Very Special Kids The charity provides counselling and emotional support for the whole family; extended and medically supported respite care; and end-of-life care and long-term bereavement support. From 2019 to 2020, Very Special Kids received $8.6 million, of which 26% was government funding. During this time, the charity supported 826 families as follows:

• 109 new families joined Very Special Kids
• 104 end-of-life care nights were required for children at the hospice
• Hospice open for respite care for children every day of the year
• 54 families were supported by us through end-of-life care in the home, hospital and hospice
• 5,179 counselling support sessions
